Tumblr Cursors | Tumblr Theme Fools & Luxury, i hate when people use the “local farm” argument. they’re always saying how the farmers love their animals and treat them so well!!! but they’re still being killed at the end of the day. there is a farm near my house and every time i pass the “fresh beef/chicken!” sign, i just want to save what’s left of the babies and burn the place to the ground.
i hate when people use the "local farm" argument. they're always saying how the farmers love their animals and treat them so well!!! but they're still being killed at the end of the day. there is a farm near my house and every time i pass the "fresh beef/chicken!" sign, i just want to save what's left of the babies and burn the place to the ground.

They talk about how well these animals are raised and how well taken care of they are, and it often makes it sound like they are like part of the family. It’s like they’re saying, “I love my son Timmy and my daughter Kathy. I’ve raised them since birth, fed them, clothed them, made sure they had plenty of space to run and play, and when they were old enough, I killed them and sold their meat so I could make a profit. What’s so wrong with that? They’re MY KIDS, you shouldn’t be able to tell me what to do with them!”

So, yeah. It’s a weak argument.
