Hmm..I'd say it is worse, based solely on the fact that many people who actually do purchase 'humane meat' are the same type of people who have convinced themselves that Whole Foods organics are okay to eat- even though they know the plight of the animals.
DISCLAIMER: I am in no way defending any type of animal slaughter.
Why is this a discussion of what’s better or worse for humans? Billions of animals live in horrific conditions, are abused daily, are tortured, and eventually murdered in violent and horrific manner. At the absolute very least, the animals raised on family farms can sometimes be treated kindly. If I had to play that carnist game of “if you had to choose” I would always choose the side with the least amount of harm possible.
But I repeat, this is not about what is better for humans, or about what myself or anyone else would prefer. It’s about them. The animals. Their lives shouldn’t depend on the delicacies of the human brain.
