Privilege exists. I doubt there are many vegans who would deny that. But that in no way excuses humans of thinking that they are above other sentient living animals. So instead of just saying “some people can’t be vegan, leave them alone”, here are some things that everyone can try their best to do regardless of class, income, race, access to purely vegan food and other items can do to help lower the demand for such things:
- Buy less meat
- Buy less dairy
- Buy hygiene products that were not tested on animals
- Buy clothing without leather, wool, silk, or other animal derivatives as much as possible
- Buy cleaning supplies that were not tested on animals
- Buy medicine that was not tested on animals if at all possible (I’m not saying don’t buy medicine you need if it was tested on animals, it’s not your fault that drug companies are assholes and you shouldn’t have to risk death over something you can’t control)
- Adopt shelter pets instead of buying animals from stores or breeders
These are just a few things I came up with off the top of my head. I think we can all agree that very people legitimately go out of their way to do whatever they can to harm animals, but for a lot of people it can be hard to just cut animal products out of their lives completely. But if everyone just made steps towards doing their best to do so, over time the demand for such things would go down and the price would go up, and vice-versa for non-animal derived/tested products.
Food deserts do exist, but it is not impossible to lower your impact. Go vegan, even if it’s gradual.
How is an animal killed solely for it’s fur and nothing else any different from an animal killed for all of it’s parts? The only thing that the death of either of these animals satisfies is your selfish fucking desires. NOT YOUR NEEDS, YOU DON’T NEED SHIT FROM AN ANIMAL.
Fuck this. The owner of this cat needs an ass beating. What makes people actually think this shit is okay?
Just another example of fuck sticks thinking that animals are accessories. Fuck.

What is your view on using animals for scientific research?
Would you refuse to use modern medication as most usually have to go through animal clinical trials before they’re allowed for human treatment?
Vivisection is barbaric, disgusting and wrong, no excuses. Just like it’s wrong to experiment on children, people of color, disabled people or any human being without their consent, it’s also wrong to experiment on animals. One of the most common forms of vivisection performed are tests that involve shoving tubes with harmful chemical substances down animals throats, into their rectums, vaginas or into their eyes. Very little is gained from this so called ‘research’ and this is mostly done just to discover the effects of a certain company’s product, that even then can hardly be applied to humans. There are far better ways of doing this without the use of animals as test subjects. Animals are not ‘ours’ to use in any way, vivisection is non justifiable. Murder, torture, mutilation and rape is non justifiable.
Precisely what nightmaresforaweek said. If we wouldn’t use humans against their will, there is absolutely no justification for using animals since they cannot give consent. Their lives and their suffering are just as significant as ours. Most animal testing gives us completely unreliable results and there is little to no benefit from it. People may say that we wouldn’t know certain things if it hadn’t been for animal testing, and that may be true in certain cases — but then again, if we’d thrown all ethics out the window and kidnapped people and tested on them against their will, we might have had a cure for cancer by now. Any knowledge gained at the expense of ethics is disgusting and worthless. We might know a few more things because of the cruel things we’ve done to animals, but we’ve also completely depleted all of our character and made ourselves no better than sadistic tyrants by preying on those weaker than us for our own benefit. Bettering our own lives at the expense of other lives is morally indefensible. We can’t expect to develop and improve ourselves as a species if in doing so we are disregarding the well being of non-human animals and torturing and manipulating all others around us.
Ask the experimenters why they experiment on animals, and the answer is: “Because the animals are like us.” Ask the experimenters why it is morally okay to experiment on animals, and the answer is: ”Because the animals are not like us.” Animal experimentation rests on a logical contradiction.

“A slave of the flesh and dairy industry gives loving affection to a cat passing by. She will spend her short existence being utilized as a machine to generate inordinate amounts of milk whilst enduring severe stress, pain and be forced to watch her babies taken to slaughter. When she has endured more abuse than her body can cope with and her milk yield grows poor, she will then be horrifically slaughtered, herself…
This is your steak, begging for love and mercy.” -Anthony Damiano
I think I might be pregnant because everything is making me cry this morning.
Jon and I have a bottle of Dawn dish soap that I bought a long time ago before I went vegan and I just realized is owned by Proctor & Gamble who are notorious for their animal testing. I find it somewhat ironic that there is a thing on the front of the bottle that says “$1 from each purchase goes to help preserve/save wildlife.” So what makes the animals that are shackled down their entire lives and forced to undergo horrific treatment so that your company can know what happens when you pour an entire bottle of detergent into a dogs/cats/rabbits/monkeys eyeballs? If you really want to save wildlife, you need look no further than your own testing labs.
this is a load of crap and i really dislike this mentality. If you eat meat please don’t say that you are an Animal lover, An Environmentalist, Spiritual, Peaceful or Compassionate person. You cannot truly be those things unless you are Vegan. … Eating Animals is an abuse of the worst next to physical abuse in my eyes. Sinking your teeth into an animals flesh is the same as sinking a fist or a boot into an animals body. Whichever the way you look at it an animal is a sentient being that deserves to live the life nature intended, not humans greed and selfish desires intended.
Parents got mad today because I said non-vegans who claim to care about animal rights are hypocrites.
I care about my pets and am not about to eat them.

Bears are environmentalists and they eat salmon so fuck u OP
Humans have as much right to eat animas as other animals have a right eat each other, there’s nothing wrong with eating meat. There’s a difference between purposely imposing pain on an animal and eating an animal as sustenance.
“There’s a difference between purposely imposing pain on an animal and eating an animal as sustenance.” and I supposed every piece of meat you eat died of natural causes? They don’t just accidentally rape, murder, torture millions of animals a year, it’s definitely been planned ahead of time. And before you come back with the cliche “we need meat to survive blah blah blah” you’re probably already an idiot so unless you are able to prove otherwise there’s no reason to respond.
